College admission is guaranteed through new Direct Admissions Program

The college search process for Anoka-Hennepin students will get a boost as schools are now participating in Minnesota’s Direct Admissions program, a no-cost, stress-free system that guarantees college admission based on a student’s academic profile. 

Why it matters: The cost of applications and college visits are barriers for some students. The wait time between applications and admission can be stressful. The Direct Admissions Program removes both of these barriers by providing guaranteed college acceptance in the fall of a student’s junior year and many schools waive the application fees to admission. 

How it works: The Direct Admissions system is based on a student’s grade point average through their junior year. Students receive a listing of college offers in the fall of their senior year and are able to secure guaranteed enrollment by completing an application. Direct Admissions does not prevent students from applying to other schools. Review a listing of participating colleges and universities.
