Andover’s Beth Holgrimson named High School Teacher of the Year for 2026

Beth Holgrimson, a 21-year veteran educator at Andover High School, has been named the 2026 High School Teacher of the Year by the Minnesota Council for the Social Studies (MCSS). This prestigious award recognizes leading educators within the state’s social studies community.

Holgrimson is honored for utilizing the Catalyst approach to facilitate student engagement and promoting a deeper level of understanding with course content, holding various leadership roles within her school building and her dedication to students and professional growth. Holgrimson will be recognized alongside other award recipients at the 2026 MCSS Annual Conference on February 20.

MCSS presents awards in elementary, middle and high school Teacher of the Year categories, as well as a "Rising Star" award for nominated educators in their first three years of teaching and an award of external supporters of social studies.
